CSI Dual Credit for Honors Pre-calculus
The deadline for admission to CSI is FEBRUARY 10th with a deadline of February 17th for registration.
You will need to go to https://advancedops.sde.idaho.gov/StudentEnrollment/StudentLogin and click on new user (unless you have done this once before for other dual credit classes) and follow the prompts. Then give it a day or so for Mr. Telford to approve you and then you can then return and log in and register for the class (make sure you copy down your EDUID#, you will need this later). This can be done right now.
Go to the website https://mycsi.csi.edu/ics and click on apply to CSI (top left ribbon). Then there is a link that says dual credit application. Click on this and fill out the form.
When asked for an email address, use one that you check regularly. This is how CSI will communicate with each of you. You will receive an email confirmation within a few minutes of completion and within a week (hopefully) you will receive and email confirming you are a student and it will have a temporary pin number so you can log onto the mycsi website. This is where you will register for the class.
Once you have verified that you are a student and can log onto mycsi, you will need to do the following (start taking care of this along the way because it is a bit of a process).
You will need to fill out a certificate of residency which is found by clicking on the link at the left.
Once filled out and printed, take it to the county commissioner’s office at the court house here in Idaho Falls and have them sign it to verify you live in the Bonneville County. You may want to call ahead to make sure they are there. This can take up to a week for them to sign and get sent to CSI so be aware of time constraints. You will need to provide car registration information or the like to verify you live and pay taxes in Bonneville county. They will also need your Idaho EDUID# (state student ID #) and your CSI student ID number which will come in the second email you get.
You will need to send a copy of your ACT/SAT/COMPASS scores to CSI. For the ACT/SAT you can click on the scores link at the left to see if your scores are high enough with your given GPA. If you have not taken one of these you can take the COMPASS test at EITC for about $7 on any day M-FR from 8:00 – 4:00 and send these scores to CSI (make sure you specify you are trying to test into college algebra/trig or you won't be placed in the right test to get a high enough score). You will need a minimum score on the COMPASS test of 60 on the algebra portion. On Mondays and Wednesdays they are open until 8:00 p.m. No appointment is needed. To contact CSI to find out where to send these scores call (208) 732-6795 or email email@example.com
After all this you can register for the class in January (do a lookup by professor and search Facer). Don’t pay as the state will send CSI the money.
If you have questions feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or take a look at https://www.csi.edu/dualcredit/process.asp and click on student toolbox. There is a lot of great information here.
