PROHIBITION OF WEAPONS
The Bonneville Joint District No. 93 has "Zero Tolerance" for students who bring to school weapons, look-alike weapons or other objects/substances which are a threat to the health and safety of the other students, staff members or visitors or is a disruption to the educational process. Possession and/or use of, these objects/substances on school premises or at any school sponsored activity without prior permission of school officials will result in formal suspension procedures and possible expulsion.
For the purposes of this policy the term "weapon" is defined in section 921 of Title 18, United States Code and Section 18-3302D, Idaho Code. Weapons as defined include firearms, dirk knife, bowie knife, dagger, metal knuckles and other deadly or dangerous weapons or destructive devices. Knives of any description are considered weapons.
To insure implementation of the above-named policy, the following guidelines will apply:
Students shall be expelled for a minimum of twelve (12) calendar months if found to have carried a weapon on or about his person while on the property of the Bonneville Joint School District public schools or in those portions of any building, stadium or other structure on school grounds which were, at the time of the violation, being used for an activity sponsored by or through Bonneville Joint School District schools or while riding school provided transportation.
