Hillcrest High School Counseling Department
Our vision is to provide a comprehensive approach to ensure all students graduate through academic, college/career, and social/emotional support. Through collaborative efforts with parents, teachers, administration, and the community, HHS counselors hold students to high academic standards, help them become life-long learners, and encourage them to be positive contributors to society.

If you think your child or another youth may need help right now, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Suicide text line is 208-398-4357. Your call is free and confidential. Trained crisis workers in your area can assist you and the youth in deciding what they need right now.
The HOPE SQUAD is the eyes and ears of our school. It is comprised of students who are trained to watch for at-risk students. They then provide friendship, identify warning signs, and seek help from adults. Hope Squad students are identified by their classmates as trustworthy peers and someone they might talk to if they had a problem. Through evidenced-based lessons, HOPE SQUAD members are trained and empowered to seek help and save a life. HOPE SQUAD members are not taught to act as counselors, but rather are educated on how to recognize signes of suicide contemplation and how ot properly and respectfully report this to an adult. We are excited to have a HOPE SQUAD actively engaged at HHS!
